=====Using ""XTrackCAD"" on Mac OSX===== Several older .dmg files for Mac OS X are available. If you go to the [[https://sourceforge.net/projects/xtrkcad-fork/files/# SourceForge repository]] you'll see that: - [[https://sourceforge.net/projects/xtrkcad-fork/files/XTrackCad/xtrkcad-setup-4.0.3a-i386.dmg/download Release 4.0.3a]] (the current release) has a dmg for OS X 10.5 and 10.6 on Intel. - [[https://sourceforge.net/projects/xtrkcad-fork/files/XTrackCad/xtrkcad_OSX_intel_410b1.dmg/download Release 4.0.2]] has a dmg that should work from OS X 10.2 onwards, but only on Intel processors. - [[https://sourceforge.net/projects/xtrkcad-fork/files/XTrackCad/XTrkCAD_401.dmg/download Release 4.0.1]] has the last dmg that works on PowerPCs. OS X Lion Users: There is a known compatibility issue with XTrackCAD and Lion caused by a third-party library upon which the current version of XTrackCAD relies. This is being permanently addressed in the next release of XTrackCAD (coming soon). In the meantime, there is a temporary, unofficial work-around posted on the [[http://groups.yahoo.com/group/XTrkCad/message/6472 Yahoo! Group]]. PLEASE NOTE: In order to run XTrackCAD on a Mac, you **//MUST//** first have the X11 Window Server installed. It does not come installed by default, but is available in two places: - You can install it from your Mac OS X Install DVD. Find instructions [[InstallMacAppleX11 here]] - You can download the XQuartz X11 server from [[http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki The XQuartz Project]]. XQuartz is the Open Source project from which Apple's official X11 app is derived. Follow the installation instructions provided by XQuartz.
