Using XTrackCAD on Mac OSX

Several older .dmg files for Mac OS X are available. If you go to the SourceForge repository you'll see that:

OS X Lion Users: There is a known compatibility issue with XTrackCAD and Lion caused by a third-party library upon which the current version of XTrackCAD relies. This is being permanently addressed in the next release of XTrackCAD (coming soon). In the meantime, there is a temporary, unofficial work-around posted on the Yahoo! Group.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to run XTrackCAD on a Mac, you MUST first have the X11 Window Server installed. It does not come installed by default, but is available in two places:

- You can install it from your Mac OS X Install DVD. Find instructions here
- You can download the XQuartz X11 server from The XQuartz Project. XQuartz is the Open Source project from which Apple's official X11 app is derived. Follow the installation instructions provided by XQuartz.
