""XTrackCAD"" is a CAD program for designing model railroad layouts.
Using it, you can
- Design layouts in any scale and gauge,
- Use the predefined libraries for many popular brands of turnouts to help you get started easily,
- Add your own favorite components,
- Manipulate track much like you would with actual flex-track to modify, extend and join tracks and turnouts,
- Test your design by running trains, including picking them up and moving them with the mouse.
- At any point you can print the design in a scale of your choice. When printed in 1:1 scale the printout can be used as a template for laying the track to build your dream layout.
- Learning ""XTrackCAD"" is made easy with the extensive on-line help and demonstrations.
""XTrackCAD"" is available for free on Windows, LINUX and MacOSX.

** Nov 28, 2009**
I've been fighting a spambot which registered hundreds of users within a short time. I think I solved the situation now. If you registered between November 25 and November 28, 2009 with a gmail.com email address, your id might have been disabled in the process. Please just re-register in this case. The software for the Wiki has been upgraded and a new layout for the pages has been created.

The bug fix release 4.0.3a has been released and can be downloaded from Sourceforge. Fixed bugs include:
- Demo mode not working
- Reminder to save even if only layer information was changed
- Show block gaps on printouts and exported bitmaps
- Use correct measurements for roadbed width

We are pleased to announce version 4.0.3 of ""XTrackCAD"", the open source CAD program for model railroad layout design.
New features in this release include:
- Drawing parallels for straight pieces of fixed track is now supported
- Create complete parts list when no track is selected
- Add toolbar icons for New, Load and Save Layout.
- Close can now be cancelled
- Regrouping of settings in the Display, Command, Preferences dialogs
- Last layout is loaded on program startup.
- Higher precision calculations for room size
- Internationalization, Finnish and German are included (LINUX only)
