Additions:
Position a second turnout over-top of the flex track and to the immediate left of the first turnout. Again, don't worry about disconnecting or modifying the underlying flex track as once the turnout is fixed in place, XTrkCad will perform this task for you. When placing the turnout ensure the diverging route curves inward toward the centre of the layout. If the diverging route curves away from the centre of the layout, hold the shift key and click on the turnout with the left mouse key. This action causes the next End-Point to become active and makes placing the turnout easier.

Let's start the process by zooming out of the drawing area using View>Zoom from the Menu Bar or the "Change drawing scale" Tool Bar button to change the drawing scale to a ratio of 12:1. Select Change>Modify from the Menu Bar, the "Modify or extend track" Tool Bar button or the press the keys to issue a "Modify or extend track" command.
